Located opposite the church in Bamonde, this old rectory marks the beginning of the Battle of Cacheiras Trail.

This great mansion of noble characteristics was constructed in the 16th century. In the 18th century, it underwent several refurbishments, the most important being that carried out by the rector, Antonio Mosquera, as reflected in the Latin inscription appearing on the lintel of the main doorway, which says: R o R / D. ANTONIVS MOSQVERA / DE MATHO ET MARZOA MON/ TERO FIGVEROA ET AGVIAR / ME DENI O ERIXIT ANNO 1783.

This section was ordered to be built by the priest, Joseph Blanco Salcedo (who also ordered the refurbishment of the rectory and built the current church in Bamonde). In the family crest located in the upper part, we can distinguish the coat of arms of the Mosquera family (fives severed animal heads and a crown), of the Figueroa family (five fig leaves), and of the Aguiar family (an eagle), among others. Beneath the eaves of the roof, there is a beautiful Baroque relief depicting the assumption and coronation of the Virgin. On the west façade of this great mansion of noble characteristics, is the long balcony of the top floor, supported by eight corbels, from which General Concha almost fell the night before the battle.

Since the end of 2020, the property has been owned by the Town Council, although pending a rehabilitation project, it is not, for the moment, open to visitors.
