A route for visiting the petroglyphs of Río Angueira and Monte Piquiño.

Starting from the Chapel of Os Milagres in Cornide, the trail enters a physical space of small granitic hills and gentle lowlands alongside the River Angureia, occupied by a large number of archaeological remains.

This archaeological site is one of the most important areas in Galicia, and unparalleled in the region of Compostela, owing to the high density of burial mounds and petroglyph sites and the characteristics of some of the engravings.

The petroglyphs of Río Angueira and Monte de Cornide are of great relevance, with a series of riding scenes, one of which is on a deer; the petroglyph of Corno I, of significant importance and renown in the Galician community, the central part of which shows a segmented quadrangular motif accompanied by a dagger; and also the petroglyphs of Pedra Bicuda in Loureiro, which feature numerous large geometric (combination of circles and spirals) and figurative (deer and dogs) engravings.

Fully signposted and explained, with this trail our aim is to showcase one of our municipality's great treasures.
