Traditional washhouse located alongside the Carballeira de Francos.
In 1973 the land was donated so that the residents could build this washhouse, located centrally in A Rúa de Francos close to the well-known Carballeira de San Martiño. The water that arrives here is the overflow from the tank supplying water to the village’s houses.
The washhouse is composed four continuous panels for the washing of clothes and consists of a single basin. The hipped roof, covered by local tiles, is supported on four stone columns. The entire roof was constructed in a refurbishment at the end of the 20th century, where the layout was also arranged, and more recently, the end of 2020, underwent another process of rehabilitation and upgrading as part a programme for improving heritage assets through which the Xacobean Cultural Itinerary the Portuguese Camino passes.
