Wind musical instruments

Olimpio Xiráldez Río (Redondela 1970) Piper and craftsman of traditional instruments. He learned the trade of making bagpipes between 1990 and 1993 with the master craftsmen, Antón and Carlos Corral in the Bagpipes and Hurdy-Gurdy School Workshop of the Popular University of Vigo. In 1993 he established the “OLI XIRÁLDEZ” flute and bagpipes workshop in his home town of Redondela, and in 2001 he moved to the parish of Calo (Teo).

The workshop's main activity is the hand-crafted construction of bagpipes, fifes and other traditional flutes, and in recent years it has also been developing a section for the reproduction of historical wind instruments (Renaissance and Baroque flutes, shawms, Baroque and classical oboes, bassoons, Baroque musette, etc.)

Workshop open to visitors by appointment.
